I'm stuck in a rut. I've been contemplating ideas for the photos I have from a shoot a few weeks back. I had all the girls jump or give me some sort of movement in the photos. Originally, I had thought of the concept of Rose, their older sister, trying to catch the trouble making twins who've are having too much fun causing havoc, all the while dressed to the nines in their sister's wardrobe. While I was editing I got stuck. I don't quite have the photos that I like together, but I'm still working. I thought it'd be nice to show you guys some of what I have in hopes for some suggestions! Lol. Editor's block, help?

I was driving the other day and Madonna's 'Jump' came on my iPod and it hit me -- I was inspired. I love that song. I had it on repeat the summer before I moved to the big city. The lyrics mirrored my life to a tee at that moment, and I love that it wasn't a ballad, but a upbeat pop song 'cause those are my favorite tracks. I felt like at that moment in my life, that song WAS me. Then I thought about the jumping pictures of the girls I had taken, it fit so well. The story I wanted tell through the images. So I'm going off that. :)

Austin Fashion Week '10

Last week the streets of Austin were invaded by the fashionistas of greater central Texas area! This year was the second year for AFW and has come a long way from last years. The organizing and scheduling for events was much improved, but after speaking with people involved, there's still room for improvement. Don't get me wrong, this is a great thing. Austin has so much potential and it's fashion weeks from here on will only become nothing short of spectacular. People will swarm here for the live music in the Spring and fashion week in the Fall! ;)

Here's a preview of what I'm working on with Rose ft. Linda + Lydia. It started as casual day of playful dress up and some family quality time. It was Linda's idea to put on a fashion show using Rose's closet. They girls love going through her closet to find clothes that might be too small for her and a perfect fit on them. I guess they learned from me, lol, I'm always going through Rose's closet, too. Also, all the of the outfits you'll see were styled by the girls. There are some great ones! Can't wait for you guys to see.

What came of it was totally unexpected and I'm working to share it with you guys, soon. Video + Photos to come.

Same me, different times

This picture was taken back in 2007 when I was 17 on my first trip to Dallas, Texas in the courtyard of the American Airlines Center. I used to love this picture, but now seeing it now and comparing it to what I look like now, I see a drastic change. To many others, you'll probably just see a younger version of me, now, but my perception of myself is probably a lot different from others. I do admit that I miss my straight teeth.. I had recently had my braces removed a couple months before this picture. Now, my teeth are jacked up again due to my own laziness and hatred towards wearing those painful retainers.... Boy do I regret that now.

Here are some more pictures of me from that year. I look at these and I think, I'm still the same, yet so different.

I'm also thinking about doing a timeline of photos from each year for the past 3-5 years to now to see how much I've changed, physically. If you didn't know before, I'm finally a gym goer and I'd like to see the change in my body and how it affects the look and fit of clothes on my body.

I believe that superficiality isn't a bad thing at all, of course, there are negative connotations to the word but everything has it's pros and cons. It all depends on where on the spectrum you decided to take them. I care about my outer appearance, but I believe that I'm just trying to find the best ways to accentuate what I have in the most appealing manner.

The slightest change in your eyebrows, hair, how you dress, makeup, walk, and even attitude can make a huge difference. I'm on a self discovery with myself to find the best combination of those aspects and more to be the best person I can. Of course, while simultaneously working on the inside as well.

This is genius! It just comes to show you that publication isn't dead, just enhanced. I've wanted to go into publication after spending the best three years of my life with my high school's yearbook. It was something I loved and truly enjoyed -- and still look back on today. I even majored in Journalism and English in college back in New York, one of the biggest publication locations.

This is not only brilliant in the sense of keeping an industry alive, but also thriving new ones such as the retail, software, technology, and manufacturing industries. As soon as Vogue, Nylon, W, Elle, Harpers, In Touch, and all of my other favorite magazines jump on the bandwagon you can bet I'll be in line at the Apple store getting my new iPad!

One con, though, this directly affects the printing industry drastically. The silver lining is that we'll be saving trees! Right?

For anyone who already has an iPad, if you guys try out the Net-a-Porter app, please let me know how you like it.

As many of you may know, The Monster Ball came to town and you can bet your sweet ass this monster was there. I went to the second show in Houston with three other friends, including Avan 'Memoirs of a Gaysian'. She was amazing -- a great performer, inspirational, comical, and has more endurance than a normal person should have. I don't want to spoil much because I filmed some great footage that I hope to be putting together in sometime soon. The tour isn't ending soon. So get your hands on some tickets to upcoming shows if you haven't already!

P.S. if you're going to I definitely recommend dressing up and NOT waiting until last minute, *ahem* the day before, to look for an outfit.. I ended up just packing essentials from my closet and putting something together once I got to Houston.

Since it was Gaga, I decided to wear a tamed smokey eye and added some edge to it with bottom lashes. I just grabbed some of my friend Moni's old lashes and stuck them on the bottom. Whatdoyathink?

Here are some less serious pictures of us in the car on the way to the venue and in the parking lot. I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I lost my point and shoot camera months ago, and you can't bring in SLRs into the venue -- hence the lack of photographs.

I was feeling like I needed to dress a little less crazy recently, partly due to the heat here in Texas. It's scourching hot! So I opted for something subtle, yet still me. I originally had a plain gray vest, but quickly switched to the black fringe vest when I saw it laying around in Rose's gameroom.

Recently, I've made a lot of positive changes in my life -- for the better. This song totally keeps me going and relates very well to my current state of mind. Ironically, I heard it at the gym and had the lightbulb moment. The gym is one of my few positive changes! :)

The Pretty Reckless - Make Me Wanna Die

Today has been one exhausting day. It started off with an 8:30 AM wake up call only after a two and half hour night's sleep to go work with my sister for a few hours, followed by a long overdue hair appointment. It felt really nice to catch up with Tiffany, the owner of Studio TiLee, and trim my lion's mane. Vanity can be therapeutic, if you look you you'll feel good -- for the moment at least.

Afterwards, I met with my cousin, Phillip, at Korea House for his Birthday lunch and had some delicious bul gal bi -- broke my diet, for sure, and you can forget about portion control! I had to treat myself to something, it was a special occasion AND the weekend. I ended up finishing and leaving early back home, which is relatively far from Austin, to avoid the hideous traffic that comes with Friday afternoons. Upon arriving to my second home, Phillip's house, I completely embraced my food coma and pass out -- leaving my friend bored out of his mind. Sorry!

Two hours later, I wake up from the noise of party goers and friends of the Birthday boy and realized I had 30 minutes to wake up, get ready and drive 20 minutes to the Cheesecake Factory for Diya's Birthday dinner with Rose and Laura. After hauling my behind I arrived 20 minutes late. Luckily, they were waiting for a table still. Dinner was also bad for my diet, fun and filled with the company of new interesting people -- fellow bloggers and fashion enthusiasts! It was great meeting you Anslee, Joyce, Esosa, and Tamanna.

By the time dessert came around, it was about 10:30 PM and I was beat.

Even though today was full of leisure activities, I felt the toll of a full gruelling day of running around. Upon coming home on a Friday night, all I wanted to do was watch a movie until I fell asleep or stay up and talk. I wanted to just take a breath. Realizing that I had no one to do that with really upset me. Normally, I enjoy the company of myself just fine, but there was something about tonight that made me particularly miss the company of someone I cared about. I guess it doesn't help that I saw my ex, or what you could count as an ex, walking on my way to get my haircut. Even though it was short and we had our differences, at times I miss him and it upset me how we ended..

I want to be able to chase both my dreams and love. I don't see why we have to choose as long we we're moving forward in positive directions and balance the two. Call me a dreamer, but I want it all -- and someday, I will have it all. Until then, goodnight all.

Photos will be posted once I can find them and my hands on some. I didn't take any photos today, unfortunately.

Also, I'm not worried about my weight as much as this post makes it out to be. I'm just on a diet and workout plan to get fit. I'm on a mission to get a six-pack. That's all.

I had such an amazing time this past weekend. Especially Friday night. I started by day by finishing off the week at the gym, because I knew my caloric intake this weekend would be plentiful, then met Sam at happy hour with Rose, Eric and Tony. (picture above) Happy hour was great, it was my first time at this new 'best kept secret'. They had friendly bartenders who made strong, delicious drinks with even better finger foods to accompany your buzz. From the night on, we went to Halcyon for more drinks and smores. After stuffing our faces, we finally decided to hit the dance floor at Rain. From then on is a blur.

I am obsessed with this runway track for Chanel's 2010 cruise collection.I'm so obsessed, I even have a ringtone version of it.

It was really simple and cost efficient - since I couldn't get my hands on the real thing.I love it! I use it whenever I need a small bag to carry only my necessities. I absolutely hate stuffing my pockets, resulting in oddly shaped pants.

WWM Fashion Show

Last weekend, I dressed the World Wide Maniac fashion show here in Austin showcasing designers Maggie Norris Couture, Carson Case Couture and Richie Rich. I got there with some friends and waited around for about two and a half hours waiting for something to do! In the meantime, we enjoyed food, loud music, awkward moments, and attractive models running around. Once they were ready for the dressers, us, we were assigned models, each with three looks. Maggie Norris' collection was stunning. It was very detailed with great accessories. I real fantasy collection.

Richie Rich's collection was classic Richie Rich. I feel like when you look at a piece of clothing by him or a clothing by Heatherette, you just know.

Overall, the show was a success and I learned so much in the short time that I was actually useful and doing something. I met a lot of great people and good networks for future endeavors, and I also learned that it's very hard to keep eye contact with attractive male models - especially if they're half nude.

Be the change

As part of National Pride month, YouTubers around the nation have made 'Be the Change' videos to spread the word about LGBTQ and the Trevor Project. Here are some of my favorite 'Be the Change' videos and below is my own story of how I'm apart of the change. Watch. Listen. Learn. Think. Change.

Like many other LGBTQ members, I've struggled with myself about coming to terms of who I am. We live in a world that does not educate about LGBTQ, but rather urge us to believe that who we are is wrong. I grew up, and still live, in the South where many views and ideas are still very 'Republican', but on the upside to that, my city is one of the more liberal cities in my state -- and it's a pretty big state.

Throughout middle school and early high school, I hadn't yet found myself and where I belong in this chaotic pool of freaks, geeks, outcasts, and the plastics. Was I a cool Asian? An Asian nerd? An unfriendly black hottie? I tried so hard to find out. I floated and molded myself into what I thought I should be. I was always conscience of whether or not I was hiding my homosexuality enough so that the other kids wouldn't start pointing fingers at me. Although, looking back now, I know I didn't do so very well.

Throughout this time, I was fortunate enough to be apart of amazing groups that opened my eyes to the world and myself. I slowly let go of my insecurities and fears and become what I what I wanted to be on the inside, on the outside.

In high school, I was 'out'. I had this idea that I did not want to be known for my sexual orientation but rather, my talents and skills. I never denied my sexuality if someone had asked me or talked about it, but it was never what I would start off with. I wanted people to get to know me and not my sexual orientation.

Now, with life after high school. Looking back at the many photos I have. I can see more and more of my insides. Now it's my life, and I wear what I want to wear, do what I want to do, say what I want to say, act how I want to act, and love who I want to love. I truly believe that being myself has inspired my friends to be themselves. Having the confidence to be yourself is tough for everyone. Fear is not biased. We all experience it.

Each and every day I wake up and am myself. Because of this, I can hope that others see this and can do the same. Whether your a personal friend of mine or just see me walking down the street. "Hey, he's wearing make-up. Why can't I?"

There are so many people that I look up to and aspire to because they are themselves. They hold themselves with such confidence and poise that I makes me feel/think that it's okay. People will always be knocking you down and criticizing you, and those people are the ones that are really criticizing themselves because the fear that we all have is greater within these people. The fear has taken over them. Don't let the fear take you. Be yourself. Be the change.

Ch-Ch-Changes

I wanted to write about change today but needed some motivation/inspiration so I decided to to put my shuffle on and Change by Hyun Ah from 4Minute came on. Coincidence? I don't know.

The only constant change in my life as of recent was the number of times I changed my outfit before being satisfied. Other than that, my life was pretty much consistent. Wake up, work, stay up till the sun rose, then sleep - and there was the occasional drinking and dancing on the weekends. I pretty much stuck in a cycle of life that I was not satisfied with.

My sister started asking me to help her with advertisements for her store, and being the loving brother that I am, I said yes - with some attitude of course. The call time was 8AM Monday thru Wednesday! C'mon now?! I haven't gotten up that early since... high school? If that. So after a few weeks of helping her, now I can write this blog and say that something has changed - for the better!

I'm no longer the boy who wasted his life when everyone was sleeping. I was definitely no early bird back in my day. Night owls unite! But now, I enjoy waking up early, maybe not at 7 or 8 every morning, but definitely earlier than before. The 'new' Vinh now thinks waking up past noon, or even 11, is a waste of my day. I can't get much done after that. Does anyone else feel like the PM goes by like lighting?

My point is. For all of my readers, all one of you, I hope that you guys can change one thing in your life that you have made habitual. It could be as small as the time you choose to wake up, like me, but that baby step could/will have a large impact on your life long term.

I saw this video by Davey Wavey on YouTube months before and never thought anything of it until I realized that I had experienced it. I just wanted to share it with you, too.

This is my bed, before I moved out and moved back home. I loved my bedroom. It was truly my sanctuary. I don't want to boast, but everyone loved my bed. It was soft, comfortable, inviting, and prone to naps.

Once I moved out for college. I had to bring the essence of my bed with me! Here's my bed and closet from my old dorm room. I wish I had a picture of it with my huge YSL campaign with Naomi Campbell hanging where that huge white space is.

Fashion Fundraising

Last week, my friend Kaidon facebooked me asking me to go to a Fashion Fundraising event at Ruta Maya on South Congress. Rose came with me, here's us arriving to the event and taking pictures in front of this really gorgeous waterfall fountain.

We were running a little late, like always, but luckily got to the event a few minutes before the show started. The space and company was very quaint, it was definitely not a formal event at all. Good thing! I would have not been appropriately dressed.

I came to the event without any background knowledge of the designers, so I really didn't know what to expect. When the show started, I was a little unimpressed but the show did gradually get better. The designers who showed were Emily Brilliant, Amanda Fay, Holly Hobbs, Lisa Husberg, and Monica Li. Each showed about 5 looks they designed and I've got to admit, some of them where not impressive. I had either seen something like it before, or it didn't catch my eye. I do, however, must mention that although I was not fond over looks as a whole, there were individual pieces and accessories that I did love. There was one jacket (no picture, unfortunately) that was a cropped black bomber jacket with insane accents. It was paired with a long gray maxi dress. I also enjoyed the hand painted tie-dyed dress (picture below).

At the end of the show, we were mingling with our new friends and fellow bloggers Diya, In Her Stilettos, Katie, Her Side Job, and Jennifer, Lala and Bitsy.

We took some pictures together but Katie has them on her camera, so I'm just waiting for them to pop up on the Internet somewhere! Lol. While we were talking, someone came up to Kaidon and asked to take a picture with him because they were 'twinies'. The look on Kaidon's face was priceless! He was mortified, especially cause his shirt is Miley Cyrus for Wal-Mart and they very well could've been wearing the same shirt! Good times.

After the event we chatted more and took some pictures outside by the fountain again, this time with Diya.

Skelatons are the future

First off, I'd like to congratulate my cousin Tony for graduating high school this month! I remember two years ago when it was me trapped under that unflattering graduation gown and I remember I couldn't wait to start a new chapter of my life - and I hope you feel that same, Tony.

Now, being a couple of years older and full of mishaps and derailed paths I feel as though I am no longer nieve about life. After graduation, we have such high hopes and dreams about what we're going to do and where we hope to be - but sometimes, life takes us elsewhere. I thought I would be half way done with college by now, but yet, am still wrestling with the idea of school. Is it for me? Is it worth it? What do I want to do, now?

Higher education teaches you many things, from textbook to facebook. But whether or not I was in college or not, I still as though I've learned a lot of life lessons that one gets from being away from home and in a college enviornment.

Notice my Marc Jacobs sweater has skelaton prints? I carry a lot of skelatons in my closet, and today at graduation, I decided to take those skelatons and wear them.

I do have regrets, as I'm still trying to find myself. I have more knowledge about myself and the world around me.

Tony, now that you aren't confined with the same people you've been with for the past four years. I hope that you find yourself to do whatever it is you want to do - and do great things. Just remember, always dress your best. You'll never know where life will take you.

Do you like his outfit? When I was at work earlier that day, he went to my house and borrowed my vest and bowtie without me knowing.. Lol!

I love my grandma's style. It's very layered, simple and clean. Her choice in necklaces that day was truely classy. Look how well that jade pops against her ribbed maroon shirt! Style has trickled down in our family from generation to generation. I wish I could show you old photos she has of herself, my mom and aunts when they were younger. It's like staring at pictures of Rose and I. At least now we know that fierceness and fabulousity is genetic!

This is very late, but I am in love with this photo. It's from my close friend's 3rd anniversary of her 21st Birthday. I look at this picture again, and I wish I had some damn blot powder that night! And, maybe also a haircut. I never know what to do with my hair. I don't care about my hair. There are just ways I hate to have my hair, i.e. buzz-cut, bang less, too long to do anything with... Much like life, we know what we DON'T want, but aren't very clear on what we DO want.

This past weekend has been completely busy, actually, this past month has been completely busy and with current situations, I don't see relaxation and summer days ahead. Sorry, that was a run on sentence. But to get to my point, yesterday I went out with some good old friends and some new ones, too. I stopped by my cousin's workplace to meet her and had some quick photos of us taken by our friend Jenny. I sense in the future that you guys will be seeing more of her photos on here. Lately, I've been feeling a bit stressed and gloomy thinking about a situation that I wish not to express on here because it is personal and private. What I will say about the matter is that no one is dying, physically no but possibly metaphorically. It's the beginning of summer where everyone is finishing off their last finals, packing up and going back to their 'roots', so to speak. Unfortunately, I'm not going anywhere. I don't feel like I did when I used to get excited for hot summer days and long summer nights. I'd much perfer it be autumn so I can wear black and off blacks, as it is the color of my heart. Kidding. I'm not down in the dumps, but close. The soft minimal touch of color in my shirt and belt resemble hope that I'll be spashed with color very soon; as you can see the touch of pink underneath my peeling black shirt. Things will look up very soon. That's the thing with life and fashion, everyday is different, things are always changing, styles and trends are coming and going, it's an constant rollercoaster - much like our lives and emotions.

To quote Heidi (Klum, not Montag), one day your in and the next day you're out.

One day you're down and the next day you'll be floating on air.

I always tell myself as I'm doing my make-up, "a little bit goes a long way!"

Big Bang of Colors

If you know me personally, it's no surprise to you that I am in love with Korean Pop music and culture. My personal favorites would have to be Big Bang and 2NE1, both of which have new videos out with killer styling. Check 'em out for yourself!

First of all, I would like to say that the 'Lollipop' music videos are actually commercials for a phone (if you couldn't tell). 2NE1 actually debuted themselves as a group, not their first single, with Big Bang in the first 'Lollipop' MV last year. They are under the same record company, YG.

The first MV for 'Lollipop' was an instant hit in Korea and even caught the attention of notorious celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton. I instantly fell in love with the song, the clothes, the fierce bitches, and of course, SeungRi!

There is definitely not a lack of color in the 'Lollipop' MV's. NEON. FLUORESCENT. BRIGHT. ANTI MONOCHROMATIC. LAYERS. FLAMBOYANT. URBAN. FUN. All words I would use to describe the styling. G-Dragon is also one of my favorite gender benders and fashion icons. I've also obsessed about Dara's hair in part 1 as well...

Unfortunately, 2NE1 did not pair up with Big Bang for the 'Lollipop Part 2', instead they released their own video for their new single 'Try to Follow Me' which was released on the same day as Lady Gaga's 'Telephone'.

Ironically, their video has an exceptional mix of Lady Gaga and playfulness with a touch of Beyonce's 'Video Phone'. Tell me what you think! I am loving these looks in particular.

Also, CL's leopard print outfit is bananas! I would wear almost all of the following trends you've seen in the videos this year. If you keep up with Fashion Week and shows this season you know that neon and fluorescent colours the up and coming. Refer to Balenciaga, YSL, Versace, and Manish Arora. Splashes of bright, eye-catching colours gave these collections a pop. Now that it's Spring, and shortly soon after will be summer, don't be scared to bust out your flashy, colour riched pieces. If you live in extremely hot climates like myself, you know that wearing all black or dark colors during summer is a rookie mistake; so brights are your best friend. Just avoid looking like a traffic cone, or the fashion police just might have to take you downtown.

I've got to say, I love MK&A as much as the next gay, but I find myself loving them more and more every day. The lovable pint-sized twins whom we grew up with, debuted their show at New York Fashion Week this season with their high-end line, The Row. Olsens also have another line called Elizabeth&James - named after their siblings.

I love this collection to pieces! Literally. I would wear every piece in this collection. You can definitely see the Olsens' style in the 20 looks they girls showed, very Ashley-esque with a touch of Mary-Kates grunge. Mary-Kate and Ashley both wanted this collection to straight to the point and anonymously chic - which is the perfect way to sum up The Row Fall 2010.

I love the wide bell shaped bottoms on the jackets and dress, much like the ones seen at Marc Jacobs. Those elbow length leather gloves, thin tie belt and blue python dress are my favorites. I will be keeping my eye out for similar, more affordable items, asap! I've also been talking a lot about staple pieces and investing in them. This collection is a compilation of dark staple pieces! The Olsens definitely get where I'm coming from! Or rather.. their style has definitely influenced me a great deal. I'm gonna have to go with the second one, hah! Needless to say, staple pieces made from luxurious fabrics paired with luxe python and leather. Minimal, for sure. I can't wait to see future collections from my favorite celebrity designers.

Russian Princess - on a budget

Over the past year, some of my closest fashionistas have traded in their handy, full of evil and regrets piece of plastic, for a few dollars and coupons. Who says a fashionista can't be frugal? Isn't that the smartest decision for those of us who don't have a Swiss bank account? I think so. Here's to being frugalistas!

I recently made a vintage/thrift shopping trip on South Congress - an amazing shopping area full of vintage boutiques, thrift shops, one of three American Apparels in my city, high-end boutiques, and good eats. After rummaging through some vintage boutiques, we went next door to a thrift store owned by a local church before it closed, there I found this amazing trench coat by Banana Republic (seen below) and a Lanvin-esque bowtie.

I've accumulated plenty thrifty finds that I have yet to wear because I simple don't have anywhere to pair them with. Usually, I don't buy items without knowing how it'll fit into my wardrobe, but sometimes you come across items that are too good to pass up at the time of purchase! After getting the trench I wanted to get some good use out of it before the Texas heat decides to take over. I paired the coat with Aunt's sweater that I stole from her closet, cream coloured denim versus black to give it a lighter look and feel since I decided to wear black boots, some small accessories, and of course, touches of fur! I love the way all the pieces come together to make a beautiful color palette. Many runways shows, past and present, show looks that are head to toe one colour. I love it on models and ad campaigns, but normally, I hate to dress/look matchy-matchy but in this case, I'll make an exception.

Here's a prime example of looks that are all one colour. Dior fall 2007. We love Dior. We love Jessica Stam.

Much of my look includes vintage/thrift finds mixed in with regularly priced retail pieces which is why I call this look Russian Princess, on a budget. I always encourage everyone to pair high-end with low-end to achieve the perfect look. With that in mind, try to have most of your high-end pieces be your staple pieces that you can wear on many occasions.

Today we had a snow day here in Texas! In the past, the closest thing we've gotten to a snow day is an ice day - but today it really did snow! I woke up late due to staying up way too late the night before. My friends and family were already outside having snowball fights and making mini-snowmen. I love to wear makeup, not because I'm a drag or want to be, but because it's just fun! I started wearing concealer years ago to conceal my acne and scars. Let's just say it has evolved from there.... I always said that once my skins is up to par I would stop wearing makeup, but now that my skin is finally under control, I can't seem to let go of my makeup! It's crack for my face! :(

This is what I use when I do wear makeup; I don't wear it everyday.

-MAC fix plus

I'm not going to post detailed step by step instructions for you guys because I am not a makeup artist nor a makeup guru. I do my makeup for myself and on myself only... Take what you want from my video and leave what you don't. I learned how to do my makeup through years of trial an error as well as watching makeup tutorials on YouTube of the real makeup gurus. My method of doing makeup is completely a mixture of those two factors. Like I said, I won't give step by step instructions but here are some pointers that I find most helpful!

-When using a sponge, always use a damp sponge! Damp sponges really help you build coverage and reduces cakyness.

-Always use clean brushes - that's a no brainer... But yeah, many of us forget to clean our brushes. I use Bare Escentual's quick change before and after I use my brushes and deep clean them once a week.

-use concealer after foundation, unless you use mineral foundation, if you have acne scars. Your concealer's coverage doesn't conceal the marks to your liking, then use concealer over. This way you save more concealer and use less product on your face!

-do makeup in good lighting, preferable by a window. Natural lighting is your best friend!

-makeup is to enhance, less is more! don't hide your natural beauty underneath pounds of makeup :)

Today, when I went to the mall in search of pieces to update my cousin's wardrobe, we stopped by Zara. I've always loved Zara and am so glad that we finally have one here in Austin. When I lived in New York I always went to Zara for chic business casual attire, and then would go next door to H&M to find a cheaper version. Living in New York did not leave me much of a clothing budget. :/

Back to my story. We went into Zara and I immediately ran towards a certain trench coat I had seen a few weeks back. I still haven't gotten the trench coat out of my head. It is so beautiful, on the rack and on my body. Unfortunately, it is getting warmer where I leave and is only cold a few months out of the year, so I thought about it economically. I would not have many chances to wear it, therefore, I would not be getting a good return on my purchase. I am still thinking about it as I type. I may be going back to get it anyways. Wreckless spending and minimal self-control at its' finest.

I tried to find the trench on the Zara website to show you but could not find the exact one in stores. Instead, I was surprised to run into an amazing new collection campaign shown online featuring the faces of German model Toni Garrn and, my personal favorite, American model Sean O'pry. Take a look for yourself.

From the looks of it, Zara's spring collection is very loose western meets modern day safari, that can also look recession friendly with the loose casual look. The soft, muted colors are change from the typical bright florals we use during the spring. Although the color are beige, browns and greens, Zara makes them bright and airy for spring - which works perfectly. If you stop by a Zara nearest you, you will also find soft colored print shirts and statement colored dresses to complete the collection - giving you the ultimate sophisticated spring season.

Here are some of my favorite dresses.

I love the eggplant color on the first dress and the draping on one shoulder topped off with a thin waist belt. Mix with some nude platform pumps and a messy bun and you've got a simple, yet sexy, nighttime look.

The two asymmetrical dresses make a much louder statement. Both dresses accentuates the shoulder, which is one of the hottest trends at the moment. The forest green dress with a tulle shoulder draping is very Lanvin Spring 2010 inspired, I think.

I want these so bad! Though, they're currently sold out.. When I first saw these a couple days ago I immediately contacted the company for a special request on these sunglasses; both in white and black, both sold out. They responded the next day letting me know that they're gonna contact the vendor to see if they can get me a pair! *fingers crossed!* I love circle framed sunglasses. I feel like they work best on my face type; which is not too long nor round, but oval shaped.

P.S. if any of you guys know where else to get these sunglasses please contact me!

On a side note, I am currently trying to resist myself from purchasing this blazer from asos.com. At the moment, I keep convincing myself not to buy it and to save a little bit a of money but I can't seem to stop thinking about it... It's just simple black fitted blazer - definitely would be a staple item because I would wear it with many different pieces and to many different events. I will let you guys know if this item becomes part of my collection.

Wow, sorry I have not even touched this blog in so long.. I really am sorry, I will definitely be keeping up with this more often! I just wanted to do a quick update on what I've been up to lately. (A more in depth post will be coming in the short future.)

I just wanted to blog about my recent purchase that I am so excited about! I just purchased my very own Clarisonic Mia today and I am currently loving it! I've been researching this product, reading reviews online and watching product reviews on YouTube about the Clarisonic for months now; and now it's mine! :) My face feels so light and clean after only one use! My friends even complimented me today, saying that my skin looks healthier and brighter!

I know that you're probably thinking, "what in the world does this have to do with fashion!?"

Well, as we all know, in the fashion industry to be a model one must have impeccable skin. I do not possess such luck. Hopefully my Clarisonic will help with this! But enough with the Clarisonic plug, my point is that beauty starts with your skin/face. For many people who struggle with acne, it causes them to have low self-esteem which leads them to have less confidence and a negative self image. I believe that when anyone can pull off anything they wear, whether is Louboutin shoes to Salvation Army thrift shoes, as long as they have confidence and attitude to wear them and make them look amazing. Your skin/face should be the main attraction, while your clothes, accessories, makeup, hair, shoes, etc. are just the sideshows.

I love this new look for them. It really makes me happy that they've done some drastic changes to their usually boyish style. Their haircuts have definitely made them look much more mature, mysterious and edgy - much like rockstars.

Is this spread a little gaylicious for some of you? Me too - and I love it! Something like this could never happen in the states, and that makes me sad. Why is that the U.S. perception of men have to be the extreme definition of masculine? Insecure much? Anyways, I love the frolicking with bandmates in bed.

So I recently attending the BuyDefinition kickoff party featuring Devushka designs. Sadly, I missed meeting the Devushka designer seeing that I had to work. Yes, gotta pay the bills with a day job folks - but that's beside the point. I am so excited I made it out to support my friend Esti and her store. I was some straight legged Wrangler jeans, American Apparel stripped V-neck tee, DIY wrap around scarf, and vintage leather Minnetonkas loafers. My scarf is my favorite piece and was simple to make. A friend of mine gave me a scarf she made using the green stripped jersey fabric that she had cut at the fabric store. I simply took the piece of fabric she gave me and sewed up the two ends making it one big circle. From there, I wrapped it twice around my neck and fashioned according to my liking and voila you've got yourself a comfortable, lightweight neck piece!

It's Sunday night and I have plenty of time to kill so here are some of my personal favorite style icons. Let's start from left to right.

GDragon from Big Bang, Nicole Richie, Mary-Kate Olsen, Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City, fashion blogger Bryan Boy, Lady Gaga, F4 members from Boys Before Flowers, fashion blogger Pascal Grob, and Ashley Olsen.

Each and every one of these people influence my day to day wardrobe choices and have changed the way I look at clothes and fashion. I only can imagine that one day someone will be inspired by me. That is all, buh-eyee!

July 2009 American Vogue

It's 5:18 AM here in Austin and I am sitting at my desk ready the July '09 issue of American Vogue. I was bored and awake after my July 4th festivities, or rather lack there of, so I decided to run to my local convenience store to grab some tea and this month's issue of Vogue. I have to say that Sienna Miller is NOT one of my favorite actresses but she seems to be grace the cover of Vogue many times.. I don't it.. or rather, I don't get her.. Who knows, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and I will not judge this cover. Her dress and styling is also rather boring. Also, this month's issue is rather thin. I'm not a size queen and all, but, I do hope the content makes up for its' lack in size.

So far, I really enjoyed the piece on dealing with your financials from the perspective of a newly divorced single mother of two. As I was reading the piece, all I could think about was my own mother and how she nags me everyday to save money. I can't help my love for clothes and dining out.. But I will try. Shopping at thrift/vintage/exchange stores is a good start though. I can't remember the last time I splurged on an article of clothing - and I'm still broke.. But the Maggie McGuane's story really opened my eyes about money, saving, needs, wants, and spending habits. I will definitely taking a few pointers from her.

This is the only piece I've read from this issue at the moment. I've just been skimming through the pictures and headlines that I'll end up reading later on. I love the collage of photos from this year's Costume Gala. One day, I will be in attendance. Buh-eyee!

TOMS

I've recently made a purchase that I am very happy with. I purchased some TOMS shoes from a friend of mine's boutique, BuyDefinition. I've been wanting these shoes for quite some time now but never got around to getting them until I had lunch with my cousins from out-of-town at Whole Foods. We were lunching when I spotted the TOMS stand there - originally I wanted white ones, but opt for these instead.

I love the color and the stripes gives it that pop factor. This style comes in both red and blue.

Besides looking super cute both on and off your feet, these shoes are extremely comfortable, lightweight, breathable and of course by purchasing a pair, you are helping people! For every pair of TOMS sold a pair of shoes will be donated to a child in need of shoes. You can read all about their cause at the TOMS website.

All in all, these shoes are my new substitute to sandals. With sandals, walking around all day in this Texas heat can leaves my feet feeling gross and black on the bottom, but with my TOMS my feet can breathe without dirty feet. Everyone should get a pair!
